Roles and responsibilites:
As a committee member of the CWDC, Richard aims to continue to promote CWDC linedancing competitions and social events, and raise the profile of line dance.




Dance Bio:
Richard has been dancing since the age of 4, originally doing both Ballroom and Latin, and still attends weekly classes today. Richard has taught linedancing for approximately 15 years, starting out with a weekly class of just 8 people.

Today he teaches 7 classes over 3 nights, for dancers of all levels. Richard is a qualified BDC Adjudicator and works at BDC competitions as well as CWDC sanctioned and other line dancing events and competitions.

Roles and responsibilites:
Leyonee is the Scottish Representative on the CWDC Committee, a post she took over from her mum Jean

Dance Bio:
Leyonee has danced since the age of 2, training in highland, ballet, tap, majorettes, disco, street, musical theatre and of course latterly line dance.

She was a keen member of the competition circuit taking part in her first CWDC Europeans in 1998. After studying law at university, she now runs her own dance school in Buckie, Scotland where she runs a qualifier for the European Championships each year- the one furthest north on the calendar by miles!!!!

Roles and responsibilities:
An inaugural member of the CWDC when it was formed in 1995 Viv became Secretary in 1998.

As secretary for the CWDC, Viv deals with all of the day to day operations of the organisation, including club membership, insurance and PPL.

Viv has taught and scrutinised Country Western Dance all around the UK Europe and the USA, and organised the UK Country Western Dance Championships for 14 years.

Dance Bio:
Viv has danced all her life and was amongst the first in the country to be qualified as Country Western Dance Instructors, by Dick & Geneva Matteis in 1987. Viv danced in the first competitions, which Dick and Geneva organised, has been Country and Western Dancing ever since.

Viv has worked hard to introduce this style of dance to various location within the UK, including Cornwall.

Dave has been involved with the CWDC for many years.

Dave's current roll within the CWDC it Child Protection.

Roles and responsibilities:
Julie has been a CWDC committee member for 3 years, and assists in the promotion of the organisation, as well as assisting at events such as the CWDC annual European championships.



Dance Bio:
Julie's dance experience dates from 1996, and includes a successful competitive career both as an individual and a duo competitor with her daughter Donna. She has taught and choreographed several successful competitive line and cabaret teams also, including Original Cowboys, Original Cowboy Kids and Original Cowboy Cubs.

Roles and responsibilities:
Sue is a CWDC committee member, and takes responsibility for the production of the newsletters to the membership.

Annette is a CWDC committee member, and takes responsibility for the production of the newsletters to the membership. In conjunction with Pedro, Annette will be organising social events in the future. Annette also attends and assists in the smooth running of events such as the European championships.

Dance Bio:
Both a social dancer and former successful competitor with many titles under her belt Annette has also judged at CWDC sanctioned competitions.

Roles and responsibilities:
Pedro is a CWDC committee member, and is responsible for the organising social events and also assisting with the production of the newsletters.

You will often see Pedro acting as Master of Ceremonies at both National and European events.

Dance Bio:
The Accolades and accomplishments Pedro has achieved are indeed lengthily. As a competitor Pedro has won countless European and International World titles in Advanced, Showcase, Renegade and All Star Divisions, not just once though – consecutively!

As an instructor Pedro has been awarded Line Dancer Magazine Personality of the year, Star Award Favourite Line Dancer of the year and Male Line Dance instructor of the year on more than one occasion.

Pedro has also choreographed many well know social Line dances.
